We are a modern takeaway sandwich shop looking to fill the faces of the people of York using a mix of classic sandwiches and more innovative specials. We serve these alongside great quality coffee, cold drinks, crisps and a smile. Our aim is to make people's day - always!
We own another cafe in York (North South on Bootham) and this is our long awaited second site. Feel free to pop in and see what we're about or have a chat with our staff or managers.
Who are you?
You are a strong leader with a genuine passion for the hospitality industry with experience in managing a team. You might be an existing general manager or an assistant/deputy looking to take a step up. You might even be a kitchen manager/head chef that wants to switch sides. You will know your numbers and know your way around food hygiene standards. You'll be focused on driving sales through excellent customer service and maintaining a great quality product.
Responsibilities
Be the face of the business. Take responsibility for all aspects including food preparation, guest experience and product offerings
Oversee team management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and service areas.
Manage food production processes, ensuring quality at all times
Develop strategies to ensure customer satisfaction and increase revenue streams.
Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
Foster a positive and fun work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership development, and professional growth.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and always be on the lookout for something new
Requirements
Be willing to be hands on and master all aspects of the business
Proven supervising experience within the hospitality industry. Could be kitchen or front of house background
Knowledge of food preparation and food safety standards
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service excellence
Previous experience in culinary roles such as chef or food supervisor is advantageous but not essential
