Job Description

We are the UK's leading manufacturer of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), operating from a purpose built factory in Bradford, West Yorkshire. With over 30 years experience of supplying EPS for packaging, insulation and construction applications, we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and services provided to our customers.

We are seeking several General Operatives to join our Production team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and experience of working in a production environmental within the manufacturing industry. As a general operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to the overall productivity of the facility.

Shift available is as follows:

Monday to Friday 14:00pm until 22:00pm

There may also be the option for overtime but this is not guaranteed and this will be paid at time and a half.

Once you have learnt the role there is an opportunity to move up the grading system:

Grade 1 = 12.25 per hour

Grade 2 = 12.50 per hour

Grade 3 = 13.00 per hour

Grade 4 = 13.50 per hour

Duties:

Operating machinery within a production line General duties as directed by the Production Manager, Assistant Production Manager and team supervisor Adhering to health and safety rules Ensuring all products are packed efficiently and correctly labelled in accordance with the packing specifications Promptly reporting any out of spec products, non-conformance or machinery issues to the supervisor Participating with the quality and environmental practices in the workplace and ensuring a clean and tidy work area during the shift Checking products for quality on the production line Any other duties as directed by your line manager

Requirements

Proven experience as a General Operative or in a similar role within a manufacturing setting. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a can do attitude. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Reliability and excellent time management skills Safety awareness A good team player Commitment to maintaining high safety standards at all times.
