Job Summary

The General Operator provides hands-on support to the operations and maintenance teams, helping to ensure the safe and efficient running of our day to day operations. This role requires a hardworking, mechanically minded individual who has the ability to turn your hand to many tasks. The role includes performing a variety of tasks, from steam cleaning, grounds maintenance to Jet Vac operation out on clients sites.

Key Responsibilities

The role is to support daily operational tasks including assisting the maintenance team and liquid waste collection team. The Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support our tanker service operations by assisting the lead driver/operators in completing Jet Vac operations safely and efficiently. Assist the lead mechanic in preparation for maintenance of our fleet of HGV's, plant and machinery, this will include steam cleaning duties / heavy lifting and general maintenance activities. Conduct equipment checks, fluid top-ups, and general transport yard & agricultural activities. Conduct grounds maintenance including grass cutting, weeding and more. Support preventive maintenance schedules by preparing tools, materials, and assisting technicians. Follow all safety procedures including the proper use of PPE and operational procedures. Training will be given. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operational flow and minimise downtime. There will be some requirement for the completion of documentation. Perform other duties as assigned to support operational goals.

Qualifications & Skills

Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance and tanker operations. Previous experience in an agriculture, industrial, or maintenance environment preferred. Technical or vocational training in agricultural engineering / mechanical trades would be an asset but not essential. Knowledge of sewage and waste water desirable. Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Willingness to turn your hand to all tasks and not be afraid of hard work. Physically fit and able to lift/move equipment as required. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. Commitment to workplace health and safety. HGV License would be a great asset.

Outdoor environment

depending on site operations. Understanding and acceptance of the nature of our business (Sewage / Waste Water Operations) Exposure to HGV's, agricultural plant & machinery, with occasional heavy lifting. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
