We are continuing to expand and operate in new business areas and are now looking for general operatives to join our versatile team.
About You:
We are looking for committed individuals who want to work in a fast-paced environment and are willing to learn new skills. This is a varied role in which you will be assisting in and carrying out secondary operations.
This role will also include driving duties
, which will initially account for between 20-30% of your working week and may increase depending on your competence.
Individuals who show initiative and reliability will be offered development training into areas such as CNC machining, maintenance, linishing/polishing, diecasting, and management.
Duties:
Operating power presses & small drills
Processing metal components
Visual inspections
Managing deliveries and stock on site
General operational duties
Part weighing and packing
General workspace housekeeping / workstation cleaning
Planning the shortest and best routes to clients by taking factors like roadblocks and traffic into consideration
collecting/delivering goods alongside the current company drivers
Safely securing and strapping down goods
Using GPS navigation apps and knowledge of the area to deliver
Carry out daily vehicle check
Driving in inclement weather such as snow
Interacting with clients in a friendly and professional manner
Unloading packages at the destination and getting clients to sign the necessary paperwork
Updating route, mileage, and delivery logs
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Manual handling experience
Valid UK Driving license and willing to drive company vehicles
Proficiency operating equipment and machinery
Prioritizes safety and efficiency when working
Assertive communication and ability to follow instructions clearly
Trustworthy and reliable
Attention to detail and awareness of quality monitoring
Good team working/player
Excellent time management
Desirable Skills:
Formally certified training (e.g. Manual Handling training, First Aid, FLT)
Previous team leading/supervisory experience
Experience in foundry environment
We offer a range of shift patterns as detailed below which can be discussed at application/interview stage, alongside wage which is negotiable depending on skill set and experience.
