Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.

Duties



Conduct patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations. Administer vaccinations and injections as required. Assist with minor surgical procedures and provide pre- and post-operative care. Educate patients on health management, disease prevention, and treatment plans. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times. Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care. Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the medical team. Participate in practice meetings and contribute to the development of clinical protocols.

The ideal Respiratory Practice Nurse candidate will have:



Current experience in COPD and/or Asthma patient reviews in primary care. At least 3 years of experience managing respiratory conditions. An interest in respiratory management and experience in spirometry. A full driving licence and current NMC registration. Desirable qualifications include COPD/Asthma diplomas and ARTP qualification.

As a Respiratory Practice Nurse, you'll be responsible for:



Conducting patient audits and delivering specialist reviews. Providing mentorship and support to general practice staff. Ensuring care aligns with local and national guidelines. Working primarily in primary care settings. Contributing to the improvement of patient outcomes.

Requirements



Registered Nurse qualification with valid licensure to practice as a nurse in the UK. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential. Proven experience in patient care within a clinical setting is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding at all times.
