Job Description

The General Operative is responsible for supporting daily operations in a hands-on capacity. The role includes manual labor, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and assisting with production or logistical tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out general duties such as cleaning, lifting, packing, loading, and moving materials or products. Operate basic construction tools safely and effectively. Follow company procedures and health & safety regulations at all times. Assist skilled tradespeople or supervisors with tasks as needed. Report any equipment faults or workplace hazards to supervisors. Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area. Perform stock checks and help with inventory control. Adhere to timekeeping and attendance requirements.

Requirements:

Good physical condition and stamina for manual labor. Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or shifts, if required.

Desirable (but not essential):

Previous experience in a similar role (construction, warehouse, factory, etc.). Forklift or machinery operation certification. Basic knowledge of tools or equipment relevant to the industry.
This opportunity is based at Manchester Airport.

The candidate will be required to successfully apply for an Airport pass. Part of the vetting process will require the application for a criminal record check & 5yr employment history.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.50-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week

Day shift Monday to Friday Weekend availability
