The successful candidate will:
Be passionate about caring for children and young people.

be a student or apprentice working at the level below the level of study
have successfully completed the experience-based route.
Have experience of working with children
Have knowledge of matters relating to safeguarding of children.
Have the ability to display positive social skills and encourage good behaviour in pupils.
Have the ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.
Have adequate verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the need to communicate effectively with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.
Job Purpose:
To work with teachers and other school employees to support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff, and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan. May work in the classroom or appropriate location within the school, with access to support and guidance as required.
To provide support to pupils including promoting pupils' independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion
The core focus of this job is to ensure the provision of high quality out of hours school provision for children, within a positive, safe and happy environment. You will assist with supporting the school with the provision of extended care.
The role will include:
Interacting with pupils in ways that support the development of their ability to think and learn, including the use of careful questioning.
Communicating effectively with all pupils, families, carers and other agencies.
Helping support children with their personal, social and emotional development needs.
Encouraging inclusive and positive play.
Implementation of appropriate behaviour management and teaching and learning strategies.
