We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a key and varied role in our small and friendly production team, as a Warehouse Operative.

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and ensuring efficient shipping and receiving operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic warehouse environment, supporting the smooth flow of goods and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts Operating forklift trucks safely to move heavy or bulky items around the warehouse Managing inventory through warehouse management systems, ensuring accurate stock levels and documentation Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring items meet quality standards Stocking shelves in an organised manner to optimise space utilisation and accessibility Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including checking deliveries against purchase orders Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products to maintain high standards Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance or troubleshooting as needed Ensuring the workspace is clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations Loading and unloading lorries or containers with care to prevent damage or injury

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations or materials handling Ability to operate Counterbalance forklifts safely; relevant certification is essential Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management Mechanical knowledge useful for basic maintenance or troubleshooting of equipment Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks; ability to lift loads up to specified weight limits safely Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
