Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient General Operative to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position involves various tasks including materials handling, quality control, and assisting with shipping and receiving. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is essential.

Responsibilities

Handle materials safely and efficiently, ensuring proper lifting techniques are employed for heavy lifting tasks. Utilise previous warehouse experience to monitor inventory levels and assist with stock management. Participate in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch of goods. Engage in picking and packing activities, preparing orders for delivery with attention to detail. Maintain an organised warehouse environment by stocking shelves and ensuring products are stored correctly. Conduct quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products to ensure compliance with company standards. Assist in loading and unloading lorries, ensuring that all items are handled carefully to prevent damage.

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, particularly in roles involving materials handling and logistics. Familiarity with warehouse management systems will be advantageous. A valid forklift licence is preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate. Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial for operating equipment effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role, demonstrating physical fitness and stamina. Excellent attention to detail to ensure quality control standards are met consistently. A proactive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration within a fast-paced environment.
