- General Warehouse Operative (Part-Time)

Hours:

3 days per week, 8:00am - 4:00pm (Monday to Wednesday)

Position Overview

The General Warehouse Operative plays a key role in the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This role involves picking and packing customer orders, re-working and preparing pallets, ensuring accurate stock handling, and supporting the overall cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse environment. The position requires a reliable individual with good attention to detail and the ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.

Key ResponsibilitiesOrder Picking & Packing

Accurately pick customer orders following pick sheets or digital systems. Pack items securely and professionally according to customer and company standards. Ensure correct labelling, documentation, and packing materials are used.

Pallet Re-Working & Wrapping

Re-work pallets as required, including splitting, rebuilding, or reconfiguring loads. Wrap pallets to a safe and stable standard using manual or powered wrapping equipment. Assist in preparing pallets for dispatch, ensuring quality and safety requirements are met.

General Warehouse Operations

Load and unload vehicles as required (manual handling involved). Move stock using manual handling equipment or pallet trucks (training provided). Assist with stock counts, cycle counts, and general inventory accuracy tasks.

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment at all times. Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including correct manual handling practices. Report any hazards, safety concerns, or damaged stock/equipment to management immediately.

Teamwork & Communication

Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain efficient warehouse flow. Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding stock levels, issues, or workload priorities. Support with any additional warehouse tasks as required by the business.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

Good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling tasks. Ability to follow instructions and work to established processes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Desirable

Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment. Experience in picking/packing or pallet preparation. Familiarity with inventory systems or warehouse equipment. Manual handling or warehouse safety training (can be provided).
