Overview

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Hand to join our team. This role involves supporting warehouse operations, handling materials, and assisting with logistical tasks in a busy yard environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, be comfortable with heavy lifting, and have relevant experience in warehouse or construction settings. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills and gain valuable industry experience.

Duties

Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts Support shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods Handle materials safely and efficiently within the yard, adhering to health and safety standards Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory and movement of goods Perform basic maintenance and mechanical checks on equipment as required Organise materials in designated areas for easy access and inventory control Support construction or refurbishment projects on-site as needed Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times

Experience

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate Familiarity with forklift operation is highly desirable; certification is a plus Knowledge of warehouse management systems or similar software is advantageous Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or construction environments is beneficial Mechanical knowledge or experience with heavy lifting equipment will be considered an asset Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
This role requires a proactive individual who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, attention to safety procedures, and a willingness to learn new skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 43 per week
