: Mobile and Fixed Plant Maintenance Manager.

Job Type

: Temporary Contract - 32 hours over 4 days (may be required to work from different company sites and or from home as instructed or by agreement with line manager.)

This position is advertised on the above basis as to meet the growing demand for our products and services, we are expanding our team to meet our customer requirements.

Summary

: As a General Operative / Yard Person, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the yard or outdoor storage area within our organization. Your primary duties will involve organising, maintaining, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the yard, as well as assisting with various tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Yard Maintenance:



Organise and maintain the yard to ensure it is clean, safe, and organised.

Regularly inspect equipment, vehicles, and materials for damage or defects.

Conduct routine cleaning and tidying of the yard area.

2. Assistance with Loading and Unloading:



Assist in loading and unloading materials, equipment, or products as required.

Safely operate loading shovel, pallet jacks, or other machinery for material handling.

3. Inventory Control:



Keep track of inventory in the yard and report shortages or damages to the line manager.

Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform basic maintenance tasks on yard equipment and tools. Inform the maintenance team of any equipment issues.

6. Customer Service:



Interact with customers, suppliers, and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.

7. Record Keeping:



Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities which could be in paper form or electronically e.g., Pepertrail.

Essential Criteria:



Must have a full UK driving license as travel between sites may be required.

Education and Preferred Qualifications

:

5 GCSE's or equivalent.

Loading shovel or heavy machinery operation certification is preferred but not essential.

Basic computer skills for record-keeping.

Experience:



Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.

Skills & Abilities:



Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects as needed.

Attention to detail and organisational skills.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions

:

The General Operative / Yard Person typically works on company sites, exposure to outdoor and industrial environments and travel is required. The candidate must be prepared to work in varying weather conditions and will be required to always wear personal protective equipment.

They will also be required to work nights, weekends, or irregular hours to meet the customer demands which will be on an ad hoc basis as required.

Physical Requirements

:

Physical fitness to walk, climb and navigate uneven terrain.

Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Dexterity to perform tasks in various weather conditions and environments.

Ability to lift heavy objects as needed.

Salary and Benefits

:

Salary Band - 20,000 - 25,000

Refer to the contract of employment for agreed salary and benefits.
