We are seeking a reliable and skilled Generator Assembly Operative to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be involved in the mechanical and electrical assembly of diesel, gas, and hybrid power generators. This hands-on role requires good attention to detail, the ability to follow technical drawings, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical assembly of generator sets, including fitting engines, alternators, fuel tanks, and enclosures.
Perform basic electrical wiring, including fitting looms & control panels.
Work from assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and build instructions.
Use hand tools and power tools to complete build tasks safely and efficiently.
Assist with test and inspection processes, reporting any faults or non-conformities.
Ensure work is completed to quality and safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a mechanical or electrical assembly environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Flexible approach with a willingness to learn.
Desirable:
Forklift license
Electrical qualifications (desirable but not essential).
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 07:30-16:30 Friday, 07:30 - 14:00
