Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to patient care and experience? Join our dedicated Facilities team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust as a Facilities Service Assistant.


This is a varied and hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of our hospital environment. You'll be involved in cleaning, catering, portering, and general housekeeping duties, all essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming space for patients, staff, and visitors.




Main duties, tasks & skills required

Carrying out cleaning duties across wards, patient rooms, kitchens, and communal areas. Supporting catering services including meal preparation, delivery, and food safety checks. Assisting with portering tasks such as transporting equipment, linen, and patient items. Maintaining hygiene standards in line with National Cleaning Standards and Trust policies. Working closely with the Facilities Team Leader, Housekeeper, and clinical teams.
