Advisian provides a full range of geo-environmental consultancy services with a strong reputation for technical excellence and innovation. Within the UK, Advisian has a team of environmental specialists based within our London, Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow offices.

Our environmental consulting service lines include Decommissioning, Restoration, and Geosciences, Environment and Society, and Water Solutions. In addition to these services, Advisian provides engineering and technical consultancy expertise to the energy and resources sectors.

We are currently recruiting candidates for Geo-environmental Technician positions to be based within our Bristol, Glasgow, London or Leeds Offices.

A degree in a relevant subject would be preferred but may not be essential for the right candidate. Relevant experience is preferred but is not essential.

The positions will be within our Decommissioning and Restoration team, principally within the technical discipline of land contamination assessment and remediation, and related services.

Core Responsibilities will include the following:

\xc2\xb7 Preparation of project HSSE plans.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct monitoring events that include following standards and procedures for sampling of groundwater, soil gas, soil, sediment, stormwater, and surface water.

\xc2\xb7 Assist with the drilling and installation of groundwater monitoring wells and geologic logging of soils during drilling and site environmental investigations.

\xc2\xb7 Perform field measurements and calculations.

\xc2\xb7 Record and compile field data using tablets.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure the safety and health of yourself, Advisian employees, and their on-site contractors; and protect the environment in which we work.

\xc2\xb7 Equipment calibration, maintenance and repair.

\xc2\xb7 Perform assigned office duties, such as data entry, processing borehole logs, presenting data, and supporting report preparation.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate and communicate with client representatives, subcontractors, and Advisian employees.

\xc2\xb7 Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to Advisian\xe2\x80\x99s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience will include the following:

\xc2\xb7 Education to A-Level or equivalent.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to independently complete field assignments and summarise field data for use in reporting.

\xc2\xb7 Proficient in MS Office skills.

\xc2\xb7 Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.

\xc2\xb7 Strong initiative, problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail.

\xc2\xb7 Good verbal and written communication skills and a professional attitude.

\xc2\xb7 Working outdoors in all weather conditions.

\xc2\xb7 Be willing to travel and spend periods of time away on field-based projects across the UK and internationally.

\xc2\xb7 Be eligible to work in the UK and hold a full valid driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in relevant field.

\xc2\xb7 Honours degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g. Geology, Applied Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Consultancy, Geochemistry).
