to join our specialist consultancy team working across major UK infrastructure projects, particularly within the rail and civil engineering sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in the inspection, assessment, and design of geotechnical solutions, while mentoring junior colleagues and leading on project delivery.
What you'll be doing
Lead geotechnical investigations and assessments, including site characterisation and interpretation of ground conditions.
Design and deliver practical, buildable solutions for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, drainage, soil nails, anchors, and temporary works.
Undertake stability analyses, design calculations, drawings, specifications, risk assessments, and technical reports.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise directly with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Manage project programmes, budgets, and resources from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership within the design team.
About you
Degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's desirable).
Strong geotechnical design and analytical capability, with knowledge of Eurocodes and current engineering standards.
Experience across slope stability, foundation and pile design, retaining structures, drainage, and earthworks.
Skilled in geotechnical design software (Slope/W, WALLAP, REPUTE, TEDDS) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit).
Confident communicator with proven experience in client liaison and reporting.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to lead projects and work to deadlines.
Previous CRE (Contractor's Responsible Engineer) appointment advantageous but not essential.
