We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, with specialised expertise in geotechnical analysis and design. Duties
Conduct site investigations, including soil sampling and testing, to gather essential geotechnical data
Analyse geotechnical data to assess ground conditions and inform design decisions
Develop detailed reports outlining findings, recommendations, and risk assessments
Design foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other geotechnical structures using specialised software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and System design tools
Prepare schematics and technical drawings for construction projects
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met within budget constraints
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, surveyors, and construction managers
Oversee land surveying activities to ensure accurate site data collection
Utilise GIS tools like ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping purposes
Support construction activities by providing technical guidance and resolving on-site issues related to geotechnical aspects
Qualifications
Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with specialisation in Geotechnical Engineering recognised by relevant professional bodies
Proven experience in geotechnical analysis, design, and project management within the construction or infrastructure sectors
Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation; experience with Land Surveying tools is advantageous
Familiarity with system design principles and schematics development for geotechnical applications
Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques and GIS platforms such as ArcGIS
Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets using programmes like Mathcad
Experience in construction processes and safety standards on-site
Effective communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to clients and team members
Organised with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
