Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced

German Interpreter

to facilitate communication between German-speaking individuals and English speakers across various settings, including [legal proceedings, medical consultations, business meetings, or public services]. The ideal candidate will have exceptional language skills, cultural awareness, and a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken communication from German to English and vice versa in real-time Accurately convey meaning, tone, and context in all interpretations Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times Prepare for assignments by researching terminology and context when necessary Assist with translation of written documents if required Maintain records of assignments and submit reports as needed Work effectively in high-pressure and sensitive environments (e.g. courts, hospitals)

Requirements:

Fluency in

German

and

English

(spoken and written) Proven experience as an interpreter, preferably in [legal/medical/public sector] settings Formal interpreting qualification (e.g.

DPSI

CIOL Diploma

, or equivalent) Strong understanding of cultural nuances and professional etiquette Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Enhanced DBS check Eligibility to work in the UK

Desirable:

, or another recognized interpreting body Experience with remote interpretation platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.) Additional language skills are a plus

Working Conditions:

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
