Overview

We are a small long standing Ghanaian family business with scope to expand and we are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with all areas of the day to day runnings of the store and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. You will play a vital role in driving sales and maintaining the store's visual appeal through effective merchandising and stocking practices as well as assisting in the preparation of snacks and other dishes.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store. Operate the POS system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations. Upsell products by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, including stocking shelves and merchandising products according to store standards. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Receive, check and unpack (sometimes heavy) deliveries

Experience

Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred. Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and retail math skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. Bilingual (Ghanaian) candidates are encouraged to apply as it enhances customer interaction. Experience in supervising staff is a plus but not mandatory.
