About us

Gianna Baby Bank is one part of our community services. It has already helped thousands of families in need by providing essential items like clothing and equipment, so their little ones up to age one can grow and thrive. Families come to us through referrals from professionals such as midwives and social workers, as well as through self-referral.

At Gianna Baby Bank, you'll not only be part of a caring team - you'll play a key role in making sure families and their babies get the best possible start in life.

Caring is at the heart of who we are, and for over 160 years we've been working with compassion, dignity, and respect to support people across our communities.

We believe in looking after people, our staff, our volunteers, and those who use our services. When you join us, you'll be welcomed into a supportive environment where your contribution is truly valued.

About this role

Reports to: Community Team Manager

We're looking for a caring and organised Admin Assistant to join our Gianna Baby Bank team in Bradford. This role is about more than administration--it's about being part of a team that ensures families are supported at one of the most important times in their lives.

You'll help the Baby Bank run smoothly, making sure stock is ready and available, volunteers feel supported, and every family is welcomed with warmth and dignity.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Help create a friendly, inclusive space where volunteers feel part of the team. Make sure volunteers have clear tasks so that their time with us feels purposeful and valued. Work with the team to set priorities and celebrate what's achieved together.

Looking after stock

Help ensure stock is stored safely and efficiently so families get what they need when they need it. Keep track of weekly stock requirements and coordinate with volunteers about deliveries. Support the sorting and safe storage of donations. Use our database to record stock prepared for families (training will be provided).

Quality, compliance and operations

Work with the Community Manager to keep Gianna Baby Bank a safe, welcoming place. Follow policies on health and safety, safeguarding, DBS checks, and data protection.

Being part of our community team

Live our values--Care, Compassion, Dignity, Equality, Community and Justice--in your work each day. Take part in team meetings and contribute your ideas to improve the service.
