If so, Dream Believe Achieve are looking for x2 volunteers to assist with our weekly Girl's Night programme
.
As a Girls Night Volunteer, you will support the team in delivering our customised Girls Night programme to small groups of disadvantaged young females residing in Southwark.
About Dream Believe Achieve (DBA) CIC
Dream Believe Achieve (DBA) CIC is a London-based not for profit organisation empowering and providing more opportunities for youths. We assist in overcoming the boundaries hindering progression and fulfilment. We offer a range of free programmes aiding young people's personal and social development, as well as unlocking and nurturing their talents.
The role
Our volunteers will assist with a broad range of dutiesincluding (but not limited to):
Supporting on and off-site weekly activities and workshops
Attending team meetings when required
Our Volunteer will:
Hold a valid enhanced DBS/ be willing to undertake a full DBS check
Previous experience of working with young people with complex social and emotional issues
(desirable)
and willingness to learn new skills
Commit to working every Thursday evening (for 3 hours) for a minimum of 12 weeks
Comfortable in addressing sensitive issues and confident in supporting young people to deal with these issues
Passionate and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills
Reliable, friendly, approachable, non-judgmental and respectful
Informed in areas (including but not limited to) youth mental health, socio economic disadvantages, financial poverty, gang, knife crime, child abuse, post 16 options.
Maintain an understanding of relevant safeguarding policies, procedures and best practice, working within safe boundaries and reporting any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.
