About the Role



We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Installation Manager to oversee and develop our glazing installation operations within the business. This leadership role is central to ensuring that all window, door, and glazing installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to exceptional quality standards.

The successful candidate will combine strong managerial and leadership capabilities with hands-on technical understanding of structural glazing aluminium products. The Installations Manager will need to ensure teams are motivated, projects are well-coordinated, and all administrative and compliance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities



Surveying, installing and remedials



Surveying a wide range structural and aluminium glazing projects Working closely with architects, building contractors and project managers to design and deliver high quality installations Ability to lead and oversee all forms of glazing installations Undertake complex and technical remedial works

Leadership & Team Management



Lead, mentor, and support installation teams across multiple projects, fostering a positive and accountable work culture. Contribute to workforce planning, including training, performance reviews, and daily supervision of installers and subcontractors. Conduct regular team meetings and toolbox talks to communicate priorities, performance expectations, and safety updates. Promote continuous improvement by identifying skill gaps and developing training plans for installers and supervisors. Act as a visible and approachable leader on-site and in the office, setting high standards for professionalism, efficiency, and quality.

Operational Management & Scheduling



Plan, coordinate, and manage day-to-day installation activities across multiple projects. Develop and maintain installation schedules, ensuring resources, materials, and labour are efficiently allocated. Liaise closely with the fabrication, logistics, and project management teams to ensure seamless workflow from production to installation. Proactively identify potential delays, material shortages, or manpower issues and implement effective solutions.

Quality, Compliance & Safety



Ensure all installations meet company and regulatory standards, including Building Regulations and relevant H&S legislation. Conduct routine site inspections, quality checks, and post-installation reviews. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, inspection reports, and installation records. Take ownership of health and safety culture, ensuring all team members adhere to best practices and site protocols.

Client & Stakeholder Management



Act as the main point of contact for clients during the installation phase, always ensuring clear communication and professional representation. Address and resolve on-site challenges or client concerns promptly and professionally. Build long-term client relationships by maintaining a reputation for reliability, quality, and integrity.

Administrative & Reporting Duties



Maintain an up-to-date installation diary, scheduling system, and job tracker. Review and sign off all installation documentation, including completion certificates and snag reports. Support the continuous development of company processes, installation manuals, and quality systems.

Key Requirements:



Proven experience within the Glazing industry (minimum x10 years exp in glazing installation or a technical role within the industry). Minimum 3 years in a managerial role within the glazing industry. Hands-on experience is essential. For example, undertaking surveying activities, ordering for jobs, remedial works as well as undertaking and leading the installations. In-depth knowledge of structural glazing & aluminium systems, installation techniques, and glazing regulations. Knowledge of products from Smart & Cortizo Systems essential. Strong leadership skills, capable of inspiring teams and maintaining high morale under pressure Experience with risk assessments, H&S compliance, and quality assurance documentation. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with proven experience handling multiple concurrent projects. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise professionally at all levels. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail and accountability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office e.g. Excel, Outlook, project scheduling tools. Full UK driving licence required (company vehicle provided).
