Job Purpose:

DHL Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Battery Solutions Manager to lead our strategic initiatives in sustainable energy storage and management. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving our ESG agenda, with a key focus on innovative battery sourcing, storage solutions, recycling, and transportation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align with our cost and sustainability objectives, contributing to the global drive for cleaner and more efficient energy solutions.

Your tasks:

  • Lead the identification and evaluation of high-quality battery product suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to procure and install energy storage systems that meet DHL\'s specific requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on battery swapping technologies, evaluating their feasibility and cost-effectiveness for various applications within the organization.
  • Devise effective strategies for the reuse, repurposing, reselling, and recycling of batteries at the end of their lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with recycling partners to ensure responsible disposal of end-of-life batteries, while staying updated on relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Oversee the procurement and logistics of transporting batteries to and from suppliers and project sites, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams and engineering units to identify and integrate tailor-made driveline solutions, such as range extension, FuelCell, Hydrogen, or other alternative power sources, to support DHL\'s sustainable energy goals.
Your profile:
  • A relevant university degree and/or equivalent experience in the field of procurement, sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • More than 5 years of proven international experience in procurement or a comparable function, demonstrating successful negotiation skills for high-impact projects of varying complexity.
  • Experience in managing cross-regional or cross-category teams, coupled with a track record of leading large-scale projects in an international environment.
  • Strong familiarity with market trends, global suppliers, and policies related to battery technology, sustainability, and energy management would be a huge asset.
  • Adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners, demonstrating an ability to act as a trusted advisor to business partners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, with a clear understanding of the importance of implementing ESG strategies within a global organization.
