The Global Accounting Compliance Controller - Fixed Term Employee - will report to the Global Financial Controller and will have key responsibility for all aspects of compliance and controls across global financial control operations. You will be responsible for the compliance management system for global financial control. This includes leading the introduction of an integrated system of documentation, processes, tools, internal controls, and functions to make it easier to comply with Regulatory, Legal, Group and Local requirements.

You will manage a Senior Accountant and build positive and productive business partnering relationships with our Local Controllers located across the globe and various functions within the organization, including Group Tax, Internal Audit, IT/Systems. Excellent people management and leadership skills are essential, a global perspective to create the new and different, together with a strong compliance, control and audit mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the compliance management system for global financial control
  • Publishing global standards and policies
  • Documenting procedures
  • Providing updates and training
  • Monitoring and controlling compliance
  • Responsible for audit and control
  • Support implementation of internal/external audit recommendations and any regulatory updates
  • Ensure process and control procedures are in place to support the financial close activities for global back-office system end to end processes
  • Assessing and testing the adequacy and effectiveness of our finance control framework to mitigate risk of non-compliance
  • Ensure business continuity plans are in place for Financial Control
  • Responsible for optimising and standardising global work processes within financial control
  • Identify tasks and workflows that are currently decentralized and have enough common features to standardize and make more efficient
  • Increase productivity through simplification, standardization of Global Processes
  • Introduce Global standardization and best practice approaches
  • Responsible for providing system support for financial control business owned system software
  • Support system projects covering key areas for configuration, rule definitions, controls, processes, test scripts, UAT, user training, roll out introduction, documentation, and handover planning for system administration and BAU maintenance
  • Support improvements and new roadmap initiatives for business led systems (e.g. OneStream etc.)
  • Evaluating and testing new tools and processes
  • Providing compliance and advisory support to financial control group
  • Review of regulatory changes to ensure compliance to local laws and group requirements
  • Providing updates and training to Financial Control group
  • Ensuring financial control comply with outside regulatory and internal policies
  • Business Partnering to key Stakeholders
  • Provide centralized support, communication and reporting to Local Finance Control teams, Group Tax, Internal/External audit to drive efficiencies in processes and reporting
  • Providing quality partnerships between financial control and IT/Systems and other functions as required
  • Provide support to other finance functions - as required
  • Provide input into areas of Group accounting - as required
  • Manage team and individual performance and productivity. Regularly evaluate individual employee job performance through 1 on 1 meetings, providing constructive suggestions for improvement and rewarding accomplishments.
  • Ensure that formal staff performance reviews for all team members are conducted according to HR guidelines (biannual basis) with supplementary reviews, including the talent audits, as required (including direct and indirect reports).
  • Identify the future needs of the group and department and ensure that individuals receive the development and coaching they need, identifying and addressing poor performance and attendance
  • Work closely with local management to drive results and constantly improve operational performance to ensure growth over the prior year and achievement of the budget in constant currency.
What You Shall Bring
  • Accounting qualification- ACA, ACCA or equivalent
  • People Management skills US GAAP
  • Practical and recent hands-on experience of all aspects of the accounting, audit and finance control processes Working within a software company, ideally a global organisation
  • IFRS accounting & Local GAAP knowledge
  • Improving processes and controls
  • Working on Financial systems projects/ the implementation of Financial systems
  • Working with a highly sales driven and fast-moving culture
