For our HVDC (high-voltage direct current) product group, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Global Electrical Safety Specialist to join our global HSE team. HVDC (high-voltage direct current) is a key enabler for a carbon-neutral energy system. It is highly efficient for transmitting large amounts of electricity over long distances, integration of renewables and interconnecting grids, opening for new sustainable transmission solutions. As Global Electrical Safety Specialist you will have global oversight of electrical safety to ensure effective and robust processes are in place to control electrical safety. Where there is a need to deploy an Electrical Safe System of Work, you will have ultimate accountability for ensuring the Safe System of Work is in place and that all stakeholders are fully informed of the requirements. Your responsibilities


  • Have overall assurance for electrical safety in all regions where HVDC operates

  • Manage the appointment process for the electrical safety organisation at all electrical installations

  • Make any local formal appointment or delegation of duties required under country-specific legislation and standards

  • Develop and support the project sites through all phases for the implementation of the electrical SSoW

  • Specify and drive regular audits of the electrical SSoW to identify gaps and improvements

  • Provide specific electrical safety training for employees (PICW, Energization & Isolation, Earthing Principles, Battery Systems, etc.)

  • Lead on the development and implementation of training and competence management requirements for electrical safety.

  • Support the incident investigation process for electrical incidents and lead investigations when necessary

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safe working practices for electrical safety (LOTO, Electrical Safety Framework etc.)

  • Support all regions on electrical safety issues where HVDC operates during all project phases including safety by design

  • Work closely with the global construction & commissioning department to ensure the implementation of safe working practices for electrical safety is consistent in all regions where HVDC operates

Your background

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering

  • NEBOSH General or International Certificate

  • Experience in HV, LV and C&P Systems

  • Experience as an appointed SAP, or equivalent

  • In-depth understanding of Safe Systems of Work

  • Fluent in English \xe2\x80\x93 capable of leading technical discussions
