Programme Overview:
The Military and Athlete Programme (MAP) is a rotational programme designed for military personnel and athletes interested to transition into a career in financial services. The MAP offers the opportunity to gain experience and insight in our Global Markets division.
Programme Location and Dates:
MAP 2026 will take place in the Spring, through to August (with the possibility to extend) and we require participants to be available for the duration. These are full time placements and will be in London; we are unable to consider other locations at this time.
Programme Structure:
This collaborative and insightful programme consists of both personal development opportunities and practical work experience.
The development opportunities may include:
New joiner bootcamp and orientation, including soft skills development.
Participation in a combination of classroom-based training, e-learning modules, an educational speaker series, case studies and presentations from/to line of business.
Access to an internal mentor, to assist with making the most of your time on the MAP.
Various opportunities for peer and professional networking.
Responsibilities:
As a MAP intern, your key tasks, and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Building relationships and facilitating the information flow across a wide array of products and businesses
Conducting industry and product research, database maintenance and writing reports
Preparing pitch books, live deal materials and economic and market updates
Assisting in pitching for new business
Examining detailed corporate and financial information, as well as conducting due diligence
Performing complex financial modeling & valuation work
Idea generation and seeking out new, value-added, and/or unusual sources of information
Eligibility
Candidates are required to hold a BS/BA degree (or equivalent) with outstanding academic qualifications.
Completed your active military commitment and/or currently serving in the Military Reserves or National Guard; or
Be current or former professional athlete
A keen interest in global financial markets.
What are we looking for:
Demonstrated quantitative/analytical skills, numeric and problem-solving orientation.
Accomplished organisational skills and previous experience working on various projects concurrently.
Creative, yet strategic thinking.
Excellent attention to detail.
The ability to present complex material in a simple manner through your outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Be able to build and maintain long lasting connections with clients.
