As Global People Policy Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading the development, governance and global alignment of People policies. You will be responsible for ensuring our policies are consistent, legally compliant, inclusive and align with our People First culture, in turn creating policies which can better resonate with our employees globally. As a key member of the team, you will drive policy strategy, oversee implementation, and serve as the primary liaison between regional HR teams and Senior Leadership for all policy-related matters.
This is a permanent role, based in our London office. The expectation is to be onsite 2-3 days per week on average.
Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global People policy strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and HR best practices.
  • Review and maintain Howden's Global People Policy Governance Framework to ensure that it remains scalable and supports business growth, DE&I goals and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior HR Leaders to integrate policy development into broader workforce planning and organisational design initiatives.
  • Oversee a global governance structure to manage People policies consistently across all regions.
  • Partner with legal counsel to review and audit policies, minimising legal and compliance risks.
  • Lead the implementation of global core People policies across regional HR teams, ensuring effective management and communication strategies.
  • Ensure core People policies comply with local employment laws and reflect international HR and industry standards.
  • Ensure consistency in HR voice and messaging across HR documents, communications, & touchpoints.
  • Ensure HR systems and processes support the execution of policy requirements.
  • Act as the primary contact for policy for the Global Centres of Excellence, HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Talent and Legal Teams.
  • Use data and benchmarking to ensure People policies remain competitive and aligned with global trends.
  • Monitor and report on policy effectiveness, compliance risks and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Recommend continuous improvements based on analytics and global policy developments.
Role Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in HR, with a strong experience in policy management
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies within a complex organization and across multiple regions
  • Proven ability to lead cross-regional projects and manage diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to interpret legislation and translate it into practical workplace policies
  • Excellent writing editing and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
