The Global Safety Director will be responsible for leading and managing safety programs across 60 manufacturing sites worldwide. The role requires ensuring compliance with global health, safety, and environmental regulations while developing and implementing strategies to minimize risk and foster a safety-first culture. As a key leader, the Global Safety Director will collaborate with site leadership, operations, and global teams to achieve world-class safety standards and drive continuous improvement in safety performance across all locations.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership:Develop and implement global safety strategies and programs aligned with company objectives. Establish safety goals, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) across all 60 manufacturing sites to ensure consistent and measurable improvements. Serve as the subject matter expert on safety, providing guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on safety matters.
Compliance & Auditing:Ensure compliance with all international, national, and local health and safety regulations. Lead global safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across sites to identify gaps and corrective actions. Partner with legal and regulatory bodies to ensure certifications, permits, and reporting requirements are met.
Safety Culture Development & Innovation:Cultivate a strong safety culture by promoting safety awareness, accountability, and a proactive approach to risk management at all levels of the organization. Lead safety training initiatives for employees and management to ensure consistent safety practices globally. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve safety systems, reporting, and performance.
Incident Management & Reporting:Oversee incident investigations, including root cause analysis and the development of corrective actions. Develop and maintain global reporting systems for safety incidents, near misses, and compliance violations.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:Manage and mentor a global safety team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions and sites. Collaborate with local HSE team members, operations, HR, and other departments to integrate safety into all business processes and operational decisions. Lead cross-functional safety committees and initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive safety leadership experience, preferably in a global manufacturing environment. Experience overseeing safety programs for multiple sites, with a strong understanding of international safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001). Proven ability to develop and execute global safety strategies. Strong knowledge of safety management systems, auditing, and incident investigation techniques. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive cultural change across diverse regions. Relevant safety certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health & Safety Technologist (OHST), or NEBOSH certification are highly desirable.
