Based at Mandarin Oriental Corporate Office within the Commercial, Media Partnership Department in London, the Global Social Media Director will lead Mandarin Oriental's global social media strategy, overseeing the brand's presence across all major platforms while ensuring best-in-class execution at both the corporate and hotel levels.


This role will manage global social media accounts, provide strategic oversight for all hotel-level social activity, and lead the global social media agency to drive engagement, brand affinity, and business impact. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in luxury hospitality, a strong understanding of digital content strategy, influencer marketing, and performance analytics, and the ability to integrate social media into broader marketing and commercial objectives.

Global Social Media Strategy & Hotel Alignment

Develop and implement a global social media strategy that strengthens Mandarin Oriental's positioning as a leading luxury hospitality brand while supporting both brand awareness and revenue-driving objectives. Oversee Mandarin Oriental's corporate social media channels, ensuring consistent storytelling, luxury positioning, and brand voice across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, WeChat, RED, and emerging platforms. Manage and provide strategic guidance to all Mandarin Oriental hotels to ensure their social presence aligns with global brand standards while allowing for localized, market-relevant storytelling. Lead the global social media agency in executing innovative campaigns, optimizing performance, and ensuring strategic alignment across owned, earned, and paid social. Act as the key liaison between corporate and hotel marketing teams, providing best practices, training, and governance to elevate social media excellence across the portfolio.

Content Creation & Social-First Storytelling

Oversee all social content production, including ongoing social shoots, campaign-driven creative, and real-time content that enhances engagement and brand desirability. Develop a global content calendar that integrates key brand campaigns, hotel moments, partnerships, and guest experiences, ensuring a balanced mix of aspirational and conversion-driven content. Work with creative teams, hotels, and partners to deliver high-quality, visually compelling social content that reflects Mandarin Oriental's luxury aesthetic and storytelling approach. Identify opportunities for real-time engagement, leveraging cultural moments and industry trends to drive brand relevance.

Influencer & Brand Ambassador Strategy

Define and lead a dedicated influencer strategy, securing partnerships with high-impact creators, celebrities, and luxury tastemakers who align with Mandarin Oriental's brand values. Manage relationships with key content creators and digital influencers, ensuring authentic advocacy and measurable impact across reach, engagement, and bookings. Oversee hotel-level influencer initiatives, ensuring consistency in approach, ROI measurement, and adherence to brand guidelines. Develop an always-on influencer engagement strategy to drive continuous brand awareness and desirability among high-net-worth travelers and luxury lifestyle audiences.

Social Media Performance & Paid Strategy

Work closely with the global media team to integrate social media into broader paid media strategies, ensuring optimal budget allocation and measurable impact. Oversee social ad placements in collaboration with media and performance marketing teams, ensuring effective targeting, creative execution, and alignment with business objectives. Implement a data-driven approach to content optimization, leveraging insights from social listening, sentiment analysis, and performance analytics. Develop a reporting framework for corporate and hotel social accounts, tracking key KPIs such as engagement, reach, sentiment, and conversion impact.

Hotel Social Media Oversight & Best Practices

Provide ongoing training, resources, and governance to ensure all Mandarin Oriental hotels maintain a high standard of social media execution. Develop toolkits, playbooks, and content guidelines to help hotel teams create brand-aligned, high-performing content. Establish a structured review process for hotel-level social activity, offering strategic recommendations and optimization plans. Facilitate regular knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure hotel social teams stay updated on global brand initiatives, trends, and best practices.

Industry Partnerships & Innovation

Own relationships with major social media platforms (Meta, TikTok, Google, WeChat, RED*), securing exclusive partnerships, beta opportunities, and premium brand visibility.
Continuously explore emerging social platforms and technologies, ensuring Mandarin Oriental remains at the forefront of digital innovation in the luxury hospitality space.

Budget & Resource Management

Oversee the global social media budget, ensuring strategic investment in content creation, influencer partnerships, paid amplification, and platform innovation.
