Role Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Golf Retail Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing outstanding service to customers, supporting retail operations, and contributing to the smooth running of the golf centre. Evening and weekend availability is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors and members.
Assist customers with product selection, club equipment, apparel, and accessories.
Operate the till, handle payments, and follow cash-handling procedures.
Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked retail displays.
Receive deliveries, manage stock levels, and support inventory control.
Provide information on coaching, range services, Toptracer, bookings, and general enquiries.
Uphold SPFGC standards of professionalism, presentation, and customer care.
Support wider golf centre operations where required (e.g., range bay checks, cafe service during busy times).
Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Previous retail or customer-facing experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Proactive, positive, and team-focused attitude.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and peak season schedules.
Desirable:
Knowledge of golf equipment, brands, and products.
Interest in golf or experience working in a golf environment.
Experience with EPOS systems.
