to join our Governance and Regulation team on maternity cover for 12 months.

As a
Governance and Legal Administrator
, you will need good people skills, be able to multitask and be flexible in your approach to daily priorities. Y ou will be a key part of the team in delivering an effective governance & legal service - taking a Customer centric approach to ensuring our Board, Committees and Leadership team are able to perform their roles effectively and all colleagues are aware of and can comply with the governance expectations on them.
Specifically, you will be responsible for supporting the recruitment and induction of non-executive directors, ensuring all governance & legal documentation is accurate and accessible, assisting in the preparation of legal casework, arranging meetings and collating and analysing data to ensure continuous improvement.
Ideal candidate will live within travelling distance to the Grimsby and Boston offices.
What will a typical week look like as a Governance and Legal Administrator?

Typical weekly duties include:
Arranging meetings for Non-Executive Director (NED) recruitment, inductions, appraisals and responding to enquiries to ensure a seamless and customer-focused experience
Maintain and update governance registers and action trackers:
Update legal and policy documentation, ensuring accurate records across all of our systems
Provide ongoing legal support by locating and preparing documents for legal casework, use internal systems to retrieve tenancy and property information
Assist the Data Protection Business Partner monitoring the data protection mailbox, responding to subject access requests and escalating issues as needed
Provide meeting support as needed by arranging meetings and strategy sessions, coordinating hospitality, technology requirements, and travel, and circulating relevant documents to ensure smooth and effective delivery.
Support governance and legal performance and compliance by collating and analysing survey results and data
Contribute to policy reviews and impact assessments to ensure regulatory alignment and continuous improvement.
What skills, attributes and experience will I need as a Governance and Legal Administrator?
Experience in a governance, legal, or compliance-focused administrative role.
Familiarity with board and committee processes, including minute-taking and performance reviews.
Experience supporting legal casework and working with document management systems.
Strong administrative and organisational skills - to manage documentation, meetings, and governance processes efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication - for preparing reports, responding to enquiries, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Great Attention to detail - essential for maintaining accurate registers, legal records, and policy documentation.
Time management - to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines across governance, legal, and board support tasks.
Customer-focused mindset - ensuring a positive experience for NEDs, colleagues, and external partners.
Discreet and trustworthy - handling sensitive legal and governance information with professionalism.
Committed to continuous improvement - keen to support quality assurance and governance development.
It's a bonus if you have:
Background in data protection or supporting a Data Protection Officer/Business Partner is advantageous.
Data handling and protection awareness - understanding of GDPR and experience with subject access requests and mailbox monitoring.
Experience with policy management and regulatory compliance.
