Governance Lead





Salary 45,000-50,000 (Depending on Experience)





The DDC Group has an excellent opportunity for a Governance Lead to join our growing global team. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Purpose Officer, the Governance Lead is responsible for ensuring that the organisation adheres to its purpose statement and values through effective governance practices. Responsible for ensuring the governance framework enables compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements globally, and the availability of transparent performance information.





This is a permanent full-time position. Hybrid role where you will work from home but have the flexibility with the ability to travel as this role will require travel to sites across the UK with at times, an overnight stay (travel costs will be paid for by DDC Group except when required to travel to our UK HQ in Worksop).

Responsibilities include:




Facilitate strategic planning processes, including setting timelines, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring deadlines are met. Monitor and evaluate progress of strategic initiatives, providing regular updates to senior leadership, including reporting on benefits realisation and ROI. Develop and maintain strategic planning documentation such as plans, reports, and presentations. Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment of their plans with overall organisational strategy. Identify and manage risks associated with strategic initiatives. Support the implementation of change management processes to ensure successful execution of strategic plans. Manage the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) framework across the organisation, including setting, tracking, and reviewing progress. Provide coaching and support to teams on strategic planning and OKR best practices. Support Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) projects and programmes as requested by the Chief Purpose Officer. Develop and maintain governance policies and procedures to support strategic objectives. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of governance practices across the business. Ensure the corporate governance framework remains aligned with company strategy. Monitor and interpret regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Support the standardisation of policies and processes across departments. Maintain and continuously improve the Compliance Framework and supporting mechanisms. Support adherence to existing ISO standards and assist with the introduction of new ISO or other regulatory/best practice standards. Conduct auditing and oversight to ensure compliance with governance structures and best practices. Collaborate with teams to ensure the ongoing suitability and effectiveness of the governance framework.



What do you need?




Experience/Qualifications:




Previous experience of a governance and compliance role, ideally within the BPM sector. Have flexibility with the ability to travel as this role will require travel from time to time.



Skills:




A deep understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and compliance, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and working with the Board of Directors. A good understanding of relevant regulation and legislation. Knowledge of Corporate Governance Frameworks. A problem solver, able to navigate challenges with clarity and deliver practical solutions. Vast Experience in Project/Programme Management and running several concurrent projects. Policy Development, Implementation and continual improvement. A detail-orientated approach, with strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting and applying complex regulations. Experience in conducting assessments to ensure compliance with governance and quality standards. Have proven interpersonal and communication skills to peer group and Board level. Be an effective and supportive team member, but with the ability to challenge and/or provide constructive feedback where necessary. Have flexibility with the ability to travel as this role will require travel to sites across the UK with at times, an overnight stay. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Strong character with the confidence to hold stakeholders to deadlines. Proven ability to write professional, clear and concise material including committee/ meeting papers, policies, procedures, reports and presentations. Experience of working in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders at the most senior level. Have flexibility with the ability to travel as this role will require travel from time to time.
