Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional GP Receptionist to join our supportive and effective team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth operation within the GP Surgery and enhancing patient experience.
There is flexibility for the role to be full or part-time working either 21, 28 or 35 hours (3,4 or 5 days) per week. Shifts are 7 hours per day worked between 7:00 and 18:30 to an agreed work pattern. Team members are expected to be flexible, within reason, to provide cover to the team as needed. Overtime is paid for additional hours worked.

Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist them with check-in procedures.
Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations effectively.
Handle incoming calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members as needed.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
Process patient forms and insurance information with attention to detail.
Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers to facilitate care.
Assist with billing inquiries and provide necessary documentation for claims processing.
Keep the reception area tidy and organised, creating a welcoming environment for patients.
Skills
Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Previous experience with using clinical systems including Emis, Docman, Accurx and TeamNet an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills to manage appointments and patient records efficiently.
A calm, patient and compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.
