Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as necessary
- Provide information to callers and visitors regarding the company and its services
- Perform data entry tasks, including updating and maintaining records
- Assist with clerical and administrative duties as needed
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area

Skills:
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Proficient in computerized systems, including data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures
- Typing speed and accuracy

This position is a fixed term contract for ten months to cover maternity leave.

The hours of work will be Thursday and Friday 8.00am to 6.30pm with the requirement to provide occasional cover for leave etc.

We are looking for an experienced Receptionist/Care Navigator to join our small, friendly team. Previous experience of working in a GP Practice is an essential requirement of this role.

Your role will involve helping patients access the most appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

You will provide general assistance to the Practice Team and project a positive and friendly image towards patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

You will need to feel comfortable with technology and change/updates since the NHS is required to constantly meet the emerging needs of our population.

Main duties of the job



Have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures. Work in accordance with written protocols. Process prescription requests via email, in person and over the telephone in accordance with Practice guidelines. Scan documentation into patients' medical records. Process appointment requests for current and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person. Deal with home visits requests and action in a timely manner. Registration of new patients, computer data entry into medical records. Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary. Be flexible in your approach and provide cover for colleagues when required. Process changes in patients' details.
