Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, alongside excellent communication skills. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. A background in operations and experience in various driving roles, including commercial driving and delivery driving, will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transport. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance. Assist in the organisation of warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or inquiries professionally.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on vehicles. Proven ability to drive various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries. Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and customers effectively. Experience in warehouse operations is desirable to enhance overall efficiency. Previous experience as a commercial driver or delivery driver is preferred.
