Job Description

We're looking for a curious, creative and technically-minded Graduate AI Automation Engineer to join our Growth & Sales team. You'll use AI and automation tools to make Genie's growth engine run faster and smarter, freeing up the team's time, driving operational efficiency, and helping us reach new audiences through automated marketing and data-driven experimentation.


Your mission? To make Genie's growth team hands-free wherever possible, turning manual workflows into scalable automations, while also directly contributing to and improving key marketing channels like our newsletter, social media, and blog.

Your purpose in our mission

We've raised $17.8 million in Series A funding led by Google Ventures and joined by Khosla Ventures. They believe in our vision to empower everyone to draft quality legal documents. You'll be at the heart of how we grow that reach, building automation infrastructure that helps us scale efficiently and intelligently.

Your manager and team

Our org structure is made up of pods with distinct areas of focus to keep us all working on the most impactful things for our customers all of the time. Some of our team members work across multiple pods. Our structure was conceived with impact, autonomy and velocity in mind and we'd love to share more with you throughout our interview process. Your manager, Will Bond - our AI Content Marketing Lead - will develop your skills and enable you to deliver on the pod mission.

This is what you'll be doing

As a Graduate AI Automation Engineer at Genie AI you'll be joining us in a dynamic stage of our growth so you'll face lots of different challenges. Below is what we need you to do, it's up to you on the how:

Building systems for automated and AI-driven interactions with customers, the press, and influencers Build and experiment with automation opportunities across the growth funnel, focusing especially on how we turn website visitors into app users and then into activated subscribers. You'll explore, test, and implement automations that accelerate this journey and uncover scalable ways to drive engagement Spotting gaps and opportunities for automation, sourcing the right tools, and implementing scalable solutions Designing and maintaining data pipelines that connect customer, product, and marketing insights into one flow, producing actionable insights that are shared internally via automated means Running rapid experiments across channels - testing copy, cadence, and creative to improve our communication and engagement Shipping MVP solutions fast, iterating based on feedback, and always prioritising impact over polish Combine automation with personalisation at scale, exploring how tailored experiences drive stronger results than automation alone. You'll work on projects like intelligent content personalisation, website traffic triaging (by contract volume, ROI potential, or industry), and crafting high-impact, context-aware customer journeys

This is how we'll set you up for success and the outcomes we expect from you

Over your first 180 days you can expect us to help point you in the right direction to set you up for success. During the interview process we can talk you through a high level overview of your 180 day plan.

By the end of your first six months we expect you to be:

Month 1 - 2:

Learn the lay of the land, understand existing automations, get hands-on with our tools (Hubspot, Mixpanel, Linear, Stripe, Google Analytics), identify gaps, and build a plan for new automations

Month 2 - 4:

Deliver your first automation projects and start owning one marketing channel. Design and implement an automation strategy to streamline its delivery

Month 4 - 6:

Identify and propose your own automation opportunities across Genie. Explore and integrate emerging AI tools, expanding automation across multiple channels

We'll continually develop and measure success on the below criteria:

You've delivered visible time-saving automations that free up Growth team bandwidth You've improved engagement and funnel metrics (like open or conversion rates) You're contributing to key sprint objectives and shaping how automation drives Genie's growth engine

We are a start up in an exceptionally dynamic stage of our growth. We are a customer and employee led organisation. What this means is that we adapt to our customers' needs, and the problems we're solving today could be very different in six months, or even by the end of this recruitment process. We also listen to our team as we empower you to have full autonomy of your role - you're the expert. You should expect to work with us on how your role develops, grows and changes throughout your time at Genie.

The skills you need to succeed in this role

2:1 degree (or better) in a field related to communications, business, or computing/technology - or equivalent experience Familiarity with AI and automation tools (bonus if you've used n8n, Zapier or similar) Strong copywriting and creative content skills Demonstrated curiosity. Side projects, tinkering, or personal automation experiments are very welcome! Experience running or contributing to an engaged marketing channel such as a social media account, newsletter, or blog Web design knowledge (especially Webflow) or Graphic design skills (Photoshop or similar) would be advantageous!
