Job Description

At Mitsubishi Power Europe, we are at the forefront of power generation technologies, and we are looking for a Graduate Application Engineer to join our dynamic team.


In this exciting role, you'll be involved in the design, modification and upgrade proposal packages for gas and steam turbine systems, helping to improve efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with our customer support and repair engineering teams, you will develop computational models and performance assessments that drive real-world improvements.


What You'll Be Doing:

Assess the overall performance of rotary and stationary systems by applying basic thermodynamics design principles of gas turbine/steam turbine systems. Work with customer support, and project management teams to identify customer-specific requirement and develop enhancement proposal for the installed fleet. Evaluate the impact of product and performance upgrade solutions over existing performances. Evaluate and maintain the competitive landscape of product and performance enhancement solutions available in the market. Provide commercial teams with technical support for sales and services proposal activities. Support configuration management activities by maintaining record of all the installed configurations, previous modifications and upgrades by following known best practices in company approved databases. Support Project management, customer support and commercial teams to maintain optimum inventory of used parts. Provide and develop technical capability to support feasibility studies for performance enhancement solutions. Acquire working knowledge in design and simulation activities of design/upgrade solutions. Acquire working knowledge in generating 3D models from engineering drawings to support part turbine components compatibility assessments. Maintain company's code of conduct and ethics codes strictly. To write and or revise Quality Management procedures as and when required. Ability to understand the voice of customer (VOC) and articulate VOC into executable tasks. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Customer-focused mind-set with proven ability to respond quickly to meet the customer needs. Ability to work effectively in development of solutions, under pressure and with tight deadlines. Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times. To know and implement the quality policy of MPW-EUK. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures at all times. Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties. Ability to proactively identify and resolve technical issues.


What We're Looking For:

An Undergraduate or Post graduate degree (MEng, MSc or equivalent) in Thermal Power and Fluids or Mechanical Engineering or other closely related field. A strong background in the simulation and design of different types of gas turbines for aerospace, marine or industrial applications Strong knowledge on thermodynamics and performance calculation. Strong knowledge on performance calculation of GT, GTCC and Steam turbine power plants., Past industrial experience with simulation of gas/Steam turbine systems is an added advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability and adept at communicating with all levels of the organization. Proficient technical report writing and communication skills. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team having people with different cultures and nationalities. Good knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, simulation software Fluency in business English, knowledge of Japanese would be an advantage but not essential.
