About the Role:
The Accounts and Finance Apprentice will learn all aspects of the Finance department at Auchrannie. During your employment you will develop your professional accountancy career by working towards a MAcc in Accountancy Graduate Apprenticeship through Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) in partnership with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), On completion of the Apprenticeship you will achieve both a MAcc in Accountancy and Chartered Accountant status with ACCA with continued career advancement offered within the Auchrannie Finance Department.

Responsibilities:
The Accounts and Finance Apprentice will work across the Finance team, performing a number of key tasks whilst developing overall knowledge of the finance department at Auchrannie.
Description of responsibilities:
Financial Support: Assist the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts, and ensuring accurate entry of financial transactions into the company's accounting system.
Bank Reconciliation: Help reconcile bank statements and financial records, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are resolved.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring they are correctly categorised and recorded.
Purchase ledger: Assist in managing the purchase ledger functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Payroll Assistance: Support the payroll function by ensuring employee hours, benefits, and deductions are recorded correctly, and assisting in the preparation of payroll reports.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing accurate data to senior management for decision-making.
Audit Preparation: Help prepare documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring that financial records are compliant with company policies and regulations.
Tax Compliance: Support the finance team with tax-related tasks, ensuring compliance with VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory requirements.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to support financial operations, learning best practices from experienced professionals and contributing to team projects.
Process Improvement: Assist in identifying areas where finance processes can be improved, helping to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
Apprenticeship Responsibilities
This is an accelerated learning path which offers intensive and focused study, ensuring rapid professional progression. It is a concentrated and immersive learning experience, which will help you absorb essential accounting principles more effectively, allowing you to apply them confidently in real-world scenarios within the Finance department.
Learning and Development
:
As part of the apprenticeship program the working week will encompass a minimum of 20% study time (minimum 1 day or 8 hours)
Blended learning approach including online tutorials, self-study and face to face sessions on campus as required.
For the other 80% of your week you will work within the Finance office and apply academic learning to practical work experiences within the finance department.
You will also be required to complete assignments, exams, and other academic tasks to gain professional qualifications, working toward becoming a qualified accountant.
Additional study leave requirements will be discussed with you throughout the completion of the course work

To be a good fit of this role you will:
Minimum academic qualification required Scottish Higher BBBBB (Including Maths and/or Accountancy) or HNC in Accountancy related subject
You must be already living/ working or studying in Scotland
Desire to work in the Accounts and Finance industry and looking for clear career progression route
Able to commit to 5 years minimum living on the Isle of Arran and ideally Arran will be your permanent home.
Good level of IT literacy
Great communication skills and enjoy working as part of a small team.
Some knowledge and interest in the hospitality industry would be an advantage.
