Job Title: Graduate Buyer

Overall, Purpose:

The Iceland Buying Graduate scheme will put you at the heart of the Iceland Foods business. You will be responsible for developing and delivering commercial plans across a two-year period in our Frozen, Grocery and Chilled departments.



With guidance from Senior Buyers, you will be given commercial responsibility where you can make a real impact to the range and proposition which we offer to our customers.



You will work closely with suppliers, and other internal departments to ensure that we deliver a high-quality product range to our customers.



This programme will deliver a hands-on experience to the successful candidate, giving you all the skills you need and kickstart your Retail Buying career.

Key Responsibilities

Drive profitable sales growth You will be responsible for a multimillion-pound category within the Iceland business, under guidance from a Senior Buyer. You will improve commercial performance through supplier negotiations, forecasting and delivery within the Iceland Buying framework for Iceland, Food Warehouse and Iceland.co.uk. You will have full P&L responsibility throughout the programme and the opportunity to make a real difference! You will have full responsibility for product quality and food safety end to end. Managed and delivered via a designated Food Technologist. Team Being a Retail Buyer is a big role. You will have support from the wider business in a mini team format. You need to be a team player and able to influence and lead a cross functional team to deliver results for the business including: Supply Chain Merchandising Trading Admin Online Training: At Iceland we provide a comprehensive training package which will cover all areas of the Buying role and other training to improve your wider professional development, to ensure that you have all the skills necessary to make a difference and kickstart your career as a Retail Buyer.

Specialised Skills & Knowledge

Degree in a relevant subject Knowledge of the retail environment Confident & effective communicator Strong administrative skills Able to multi-task and meet deadlines Excellent attention to detail and accuracy IT literate Strong desire to have accountability and make a difference Possession of a full UK driving licence
