Job Description

We are currently working with a leading engineering contractor who are looking to recruit a Graduate or Assistant Rail Civil Design Engineer based near Glasgow, specifically Coatbridge working on Civils schemes to supplement electrification projects. As the Graduate or Assistant Rail Civil Design Engineer will report to the Principal Engineer and Head of Design in the efficient and effective delivery of Rail projects in the civils team in producing civil engineering designs and studies for a range of railway infrastructure projects, specially linked to electrification. Typical job duties can include, but not limited too:

• Assist to produce designs and specifications supporting the engineering development of civils designs.
• Undertake design calculations such as foundation designs with support of tools or appropriate software.
• Review compliance against appropriate standards,
• Assist in the production and provide input to OLE design drawings.
• Participate in the selection of a single option for further development. Prepare or monitor preparation of reports, papers etc as necessary.
• Support the design team with managing the engineering interfaces in other disciplines, or within other programmes.
• Implement a safe by design approach on all projects.

Job Requirements.

• 2:1 Degree in either Civil or Structural Engineering
• Familiar in the use of computer analysis programs.
• Full right to work in the UK - please note any candidate that will require sponsorships will not be considered for this position.
• Living in the central belt of Scotland near Glasgow/surrounding areas such as Coatbridge, Hamilton, Edinburgh etc. Candidates that require relocation won\'t be considered
• Ideally some form of experience via work placement, internships within Civil or Structural Design Engineering
