We are seeking a graduate Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Wigan.
The Graduate Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure and development projects across a range of sectors. This role is ideal for a motivated graduate who is eager to apply technical knowledge, develop professional competence, and contribute to high?quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and analysis of civil engineering works, including highways, drainage, earthworks, foundations, and structures.
Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and reports under the supervision of senior engineers.
Support site investigations, surveys, and inspections, including collecting and interpreting field data.
Contribute to feasibility studies, risk assessments, and option appraisals.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on progress and technical issues.
Maintain accurate project documentation and support quality assurance processes.
Engage in continuous professional development, working toward professional accreditation (e.g., ICE).
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem?solving skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
Proficiency with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Causeway Flow, PDS, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or similar).
Effective communication--written and verbal.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to learn.
Qualifications
BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
Understanding of core civil engineering principles and design standards.
Full UK driving licence (desirable depending on project needs).
Eligibility to work in the UK.
