Main purpose of role:

  • The Commercial Analyst role works in Gamma\xe2\x80\x99s finance function in the business unit selling our products and services via the Channel, it comprises analysis of pricing and promotion strategy, as well as recurring and ad hoc tasks implementing and monitoring bespoke agreements that Gamma has with its Channel partners.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be involved in:
  • Implementation of all of Gamma\xe2\x80\x99s bespoke agreements, working closely with the other Commercial Analysts in the team and the Pricing and Billing Teams to achieve this.
  • Monitoring of the bespoke agreements that Gamma has with its Channel partners, calculating credits and invoices, and evaluating success.
  • Analysis of price change impact, working with the Commercial Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Channel to provide insight to senior members of the team on the profitability of various commercial proposals.
  • Ad-hoc analysis as and when required predominantly reviewing bespoke customer deals and pricing.
  • Responsible for running various monthly tasks, including, but not limited to logging new deals that have been signed, calculating the output of such deals, and communicating this outcome to the sales team.
  • Improvement and interrogation of existing Commercial Team processes, working to improve them for greater efficiency and minimising risk.
  • Encourage Commercial best practice sharing with the wider finance community.
Key skills:

Problem solving:
  • The role comprises of a lot of analysis and a handful of monthly processes, problem solving is required in working with the team to re-design and improve some of these processes.
  • Many bespoke deals that we do don\xe2\x80\x99t have existing processes in place, and creative thinking is required to ensure we implement in the most efficient way possible, at all times ensuring to minimise risk.
Decision making:
  • The role has a high level of autonomy when it comes to regular processes, the expectation is that the Commercial Analyst will run these processes independently, seeking clarification as and when required.
Innovation:
  • There are a handful of already existing processes that this role is responsible for maintaining. The Commercial Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that these processes are kept up to date, and actively encouraged to continuously improve these processes to minimise risk, and improve efficiency.
  • When new Commercial processes are required, the Commercial Analyst will take a leading role in designing and maintaining them (e.g. implementation of a new promotion).
Communication:
  • The Commercial Analyst will be expected to produce summaries for internal review requiring succinct presentation of numerical information into written and visual formats. This work will be communicated to stakeholders around the business at a variety of levels and as such accuracy and conciseness is key.
Interpersonal:
  • This role involves a high level of contact and communication with our Channel sales team, developing a strong working relationship with them to manage ad-hoc commercial issues, where appropriate escalating to senior stakeholders.
Financial:
  • This role will be responsible for providing analysis required by senior members of the Commercial Team to assist in financial decisions around bespoke customer deals and standard Gamma offers and price changes.
  • As this role sits within the finance function at Gamma, understanding and awareness of key accounting concepts and financial competency is key, and as such we will support the Commercial Analyst in completing their CIMA studies.
What skills do you need to make an impact in this role:
  • A minimum 2:1 degree in an analytical based discipline (Economics preferred but we\xe2\x80\x99re keen to speak to people with any numerical degree).
  • High level of proficiency in Excel.
  • SQL knowledge is a benefit, but not essential, we will provide the necessary training for the role.
  • A good understanding of data analysis but will enjoy drawing conclusions from the data more than the construction of the dataset itself.
  • Confidence in yourself and your abilities but willing to listen to your nagging doubts when things don\xe2\x80\x99t \xe2\x80\x98feel\xe2\x80\x99 right.
  • A good level of numeracy and analytical mindset with a critical eye for detail whilst retaining the ability to see the big picture.
  • A proven verbal and written communicator who can measure the requirements of different audiences and adapts their communication style accordingly.
How we work:

We\xe2\x80\x99d expect you to work 4 days from London office (during probation). After successful completion of probation period, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have an option of Hybrid working (3 days work from office).

Working days are Monday to Friday, 9 \xe2\x80\x93 5:30pm.
