Job Description

Main purpose of job



To support the design, validation, and delivery of mechanical systems and components across product lines, applying mechanical engineering principles to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and compliant solutions. This role develops core engineering skills through practical application, training, and project exposure, contributing to product quality, performance, and compliance.

Responsibilities



Technical Contribution

Support 3D part and assembly modelling using Siemens NX, assist with drafting, tolerance studies, and basic FEA tasks, contribute to prototype builds and field test support, create and maintain BOM and documentation under supervision, learn and apply manufacturing techniques in a production environment, and support adherence to CE marking and ISO 9001 standards under guidance.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Liaise with production, quality, and suppliers under supervision to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements. Work with senior engineers to resolve design-related challenges.

Communication

Provide timely progress updates to line manager and project lead. Participate in design reviews and training sessions to develop engineering capability.

Documentation and Change Control

Support accurate creation and maintenance of engineering documentation. Assist in implementing engineering changes through the ECN process.

Continuous Improvement

Proactively seek learning opportunities in design tools, standards, and processes. Suggest process or design improvements as knowledge develops.

Independence

Responsibility: Executes assigned tasks with supervision, escalating issues when needed. Decisions: Follows established procedures, seek guidance for problem-solving, and applies learned skills to defined tasks.

Negotiating Field

Engineering Team - Collaborate on design and testing tasks.

Production & Quality - Learn manufacturing constraints and quality requirements.

Suppliers - Support information gathering under supervision.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline (or in final stages of completion). Basic understanding of mechanical design principles. Familiarity with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred). Eagerness to learn manufacturing processes and engineering standards.
