An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as Graduate Engineer working at our Leeds office as part of our remediation team.
Salary: 28,000-30,000 per annum + benefits
About the role
The Graduate Engineer (GE) will be responsible for assisting the Geoenvironmental Engineer (GE) in the on-site delivery and technical verification of remediation and enabling works projects. The role will include the provision of support in the technical assessment of the works, sample collection, environmental monitoring, surveying, setting out, data collation and reporting.
The GE will be educated to at least Batchelors degree standard and be interested in a career in the construction industry, focusing on contaminated land remediation and enabling works. Additional training and support to professional development will be provided based on an agreed development plan and to ensure legal compliance for works on construction sites in accordance with prevailing legislation.
Key responsibilities
Soil and groundwater sampling
Scheduling of geotechnical and geochemical laboratory analysis
Environmental monitoring (typically including groundwater, noise, dust and vibration)
Surveying and setting out using GPS
Data collation, comparison, and assessment
Collection of detailed site records
Routine tasks such as washing down vehicles, general housekeeping, and ad hoc duties
About you
You must hold a Batchelors degree, in Civil Engineering, Geography or Geoscience
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with external and internal contacts
Good written and oral skills
Computer literate
Able to work in a dynamic team environment
Flexible approach to work and location
Able to take instruction and follow through with actions in a considered and accurate manner
Presents a professional and smart image at all times
Interest in contaminated land remediation
Full driving license
