Job Description


A global leader in CNC machine tools, with a reputation for quality and reliability that is respected by their customers, and envied by their competition, is now seeking a Graduate Engineer to join their growing team. They have a fully-trained network of skilled engineers across service, applications and pre & post-sales support. On top of this, they have departments dedicated to projects, technical support and applications, to ensure customers receive the very best experience when purchasing a new machine.

As this role will require full training, this is a genuine opportunity for someone already at apprentice or junior engineer level within mechanical engineering or toolmaking, who wants to take their career to the next level within CNC manufacturing. There\'s a comprehensive training package on offer with this role, to expand your knowledge on their products but more specifically, on their range of CNC Grinders.

Responsibilities for the role include -

  • Provide a high standard of technical support to customers in terms of machine demonstrations
  • Frequent travel to customer sites all over the UK, and occasional travel to Europe for new CNC Product Training
  • Prepare and prove machining methods, strategies and cycle time estimations, designed to provide solutions to customers\' manufacturing problems
  • Working on a range of CNC Grinding Machines
  • Assisting customers with troubleshooting support and guidance, either remotely or on site
  • Supporting installation teams with new machine installations, providing the customer with user training and operating instructions
  • Supporting sales managers with customer visits to discuss features and benefits of the machine tools
You\'ll be working within an already established team of applications engineers, collaborating and working towards the same goal, so being able to work effectively with colleagues, as well as representing the brand on site with customers is absolutely essential.

The management here are more focused on personal attitude rather than experience!

To be successful as a graduate engineer, we\'re looking for the following skills and experience -

- Apprentice trained in some form of machining-based qualification, such as toolmaking or skilled machining
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and diagrams
- Basic principles in manual and CNC machining
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required, as well as travelling overseas at times for product training
- A Clean driver\'s license
