Our Facilities Management (FM) Consultants apply their specialist skills to buildings projects across the globe for both new and existing buildings. The FM Consultancy team bring specialist expertise to solutions for managing and operating buildings. As a team we provide specialist advice on all aspects of the aftercare of buildings including strategic and financial planning, technical services and operational support. The FM team is primarily made up of mechanical and electrical services engineers, who have a strong understanding of both the technical and the consultancy aspects of the job. With client care at the forefront, this position involves first rate communication skills, and a high level of commitment and motivation.



Our aim is to help clients to maximise the life of their buildings through appropriate and focussed interventions. This can include at the design stage, for example considering buildability, maintainability and zero waste, and products that utilise 're-use' rather than disposal or 'recycle'. Currently a lot of projects involve condition / energy surveys that result is decarbonisation opportunities that then lead into small to medium sized project works.



We offer our clients a broad spectrum of expertise and services in, but not limited to, the following types of developments; commercial and residential developments, universities, colleges and schools, hospitals and healthcare buildings, laboratories and research facilities, transport projects, including airports and rail stations, sports facilities and stadia, hotels and leisure, theatres and performance venues, museums and art galleries, large-scale industrial and manufacturing facilities and data centres.





The Opportunity



Right now, we're looking for a Graduate Facilities Management Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team based in Bristol. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. Whilst you will have some responsibility from day one, we will give you the opportunity to progress further and broaden your skills.



As a Graduate Engineer, your role will include undertaking:


Condition surveys Assessment of existing buildings Report writing and contributing towards strategies to help achieve Carbon targets Preparation of asset registers; maintenance specifications or tenders and procuring maintenance contracts Undertake audits of compliance and statutory regulations associated with the operation of buildings and portfolios. Auditing maintenance contractors Life-cycle assessments and costing. Review of designs for maintainability

You will need to possess a good understanding of excel, including creating solution generated formats, Databases, either have experience or knowledge of AutoCAD. Presentation aids such as Power BI and a good understanding of digital formats in general



You'll be working in a multi-disciplinary office, delivering projects in collaboration with project teams as well as external architects, surveyors, contractors and clients for projects across a wide range of markets. You'll have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, some of these will be located outside of the UK and at different project stages.

Masters degree in, Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, however a strong Bachelors degree in these subjects will also be considered Studying, or have studied, an IMechE, a CIBSE or an Engineering Council accredited course Have a desire and plan for working towards your CEng and full membership of a recognised professional institution A keen interest in developing digital tools to aid automation of processes Enthusiasm for a career in assisting clients maximise the life of their buildings / assets underpinned by an understanding of our sector and work Demonstrate a creative and inquisitive approach to problem solving Seek to improve existing ways of working, by finding efficiencies in processes The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
