Job Overview
You provide hands-on assistance to support the operation and goals of the laboratory by supporting experiments and projects under technical guidance.
Working on teams and independently with the guidance of more senior team members
Maintaining equipment to ensure they are always operable
Applying your technical understanding of equipment to support laboratory operations
Recording and reporting data
Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Work safely in a laboratory, maintaining excellent housekeeping whilst following appropriate safety, environment and risk management systems.
Follow quality procedures to meet the requirements of quality standards relevant to the workplace.
Prepare for laboratory tasks using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures and methods
Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.
Support the Testing Team with activities such as plate counting, data recording, results entry, IMS (photography of samples), cleaning and disinfectant activities and appropriate activities to analysts to ensure testing is initiated within agreed timelines and delivered to client requirements
How you will contribute:
You provide hands-on assistance to support the operation and goals of the laboratory by supporting experiments and applying your understanding under technical guidance.
You will support a range of analyses, prepare and maintain standard equipment and chemicals required for running of an analytical laboratory, support laboratory activities while ensuring compliance to the appropriate internal and external standards, and capture and report data with technical rigor and accuracy. To succeed in this role, you will maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment and be proficient in generic and specific software packages.
