We want our team members to love their time at EDP, to grow as professionals and find that perfect balance between their lives and their careers. We want them to be their best, to do their best, and to make wonderful memories during their time with us.
We champion community by operating in a way that's always Team First... whether we're collaborating to solve complex challenges or cementing our working relationships on one of our great socials.
We're looking for enthusiastic and experienced candidates to join our supportive and well-established Masterplanning Team. We're on the lookout for someone to support with residential led strategic site promotions, Outline Planning Applications, through to Reserved Matters and detailed planning schemes.
We are looking to recruit one Graduate Masterplanner at our Cardiff Office and one at our Cirencester office.
The Role
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and highly organised team player with a sound knowledge of urban design and a genuine interest in the environment and placemaking. The role will include assisting in the production of all typical masterplanning services, including feasibility appraisals; concept, illustrative and detailed masterplan schemes; site promotion and preparing Vision Documents; preparation of residential planning application packages and producing Design and Access Statements along with Design Codes.
Our masterplanning approach is environmentally led with a strong focus on innovative green infrastructure planning and design. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills by working closely with our existing team of experienced masterplanners and urban designers and learning directly from the other core environmental disciplines within the company. EDP firmly believes in supporting and developing its Team Members and considers this role a great opportunity for someone to gain experience on a wide range of projects, with support and mentorship to develop their own career.
Your Skills
Of course, we'll need you to have all the right qualifications and experience - excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. But to enjoy your time at EDP, you'll also need to be personable, passionate, and proactive. We're a friendly bunch but we do work hard.
You will have strong graphic skills and excellent verbal and visual presentation abilities and be able to communicate this through using a range of media including Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, QGIS, 3D design software and hand drawing. A demonstrable background in residential layout design at a reserved matters planning stage will be an advantage. Our ideal candidate will be proactive, positive and a confident communicator, and preferably with experience gained in a design practice working on residential led masterplanning projects through to reserved matters stage.
You'll need to hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
Learning and Development
We invest in our people and have excellent learning and development opportunities for all our Team Members. This includes an extensive internal training programme to expand knowledge of our multi-disciplinary projects and roles within these. So, you can be confident you'll grow and develop both personally and professionally when you join us.
