Role Overview
We are seeking motivated and technically capable Graduate Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical engineering activities within the MEH Alliance.
This is a fully site-based role, offering hands-on experience on a major nuclear new-build project within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. Working as part of an integrated alliance delivery team, you will support mechanical design implementation, construction, installation and commissioning activities, while following a structured graduate development pathway toward professional accreditation and Chartered status.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of mechanical engineering activities across MEH work scopes
Assist with the implementation of mechanical designs, specifications and work packs on site
Support installation, inspection, testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems
Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, method statements and reports under supervision
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and client representatives to support safe and efficient delivery
Participate in site walkdowns, inspections and progress reviews
Ensure mechanical works comply with nuclear regulatory requirements, project specifications and company procedures
Promote a strong safety culture and comply with all health, safety and environmental requirements
Support quality assurance, defect resolution and continuous improvement activities
Actively engage in graduate training, mentoring and professional development activities
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Strong interest in mechanical engineering within construction, manufacturing or nuclear environments
Good technical understanding and problem-solving capability
Effective communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary site teams
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines in a site-based environment
Willingness to work within a highly regulated and safety-critical industry
Previous industrial placement or site experience is advantageous but not essential

Applicants must be Sole British Nationals
Applicants must be eligible to obtain UK CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) security clearance
Appointment is subject to satisfactory security clearance and background checks
