Role Overview

We are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer who is motivated and enthusiastic, to join our world class team. This is a unique opportunity to build a career designing and developing complex mechanical systems, working on one-of-a-kind projects that will shape the future of the aluminium industry. You will travel worldwide to collaborate with clients, suppliers, and installation teams, and play a supporting role in pushing our designs forward toward a greener, more sustainable future.

No two projects are ever the same at Mechatherm making this an ideal role for someone curious, creative, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the mechanical design of bespoke aluminium furnaces and casthouse equipment, from concept through to completion.

- Assist in producing design calculations, 3D models, and technical drawings.

- Work alongside senior engineers to explore innovative solutions, including sustainable and hydrogen-based technologies.

- Collaborate with colleagues in mechanical, process, and electrical teams to deliver integrated project solutions.

- Gain international experience by supporting projects at customer sites around the world (with opportunities for travel).

- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and help challenge the norm with fresh thinking.

- Ensure all designs follow international safety and environmental standards.

Skills & Qualifications

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).

- Strong problem solving mindset, eager to challenge traditional approaches.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn quickly.

- Willingness to travel internationally as part of project delivery.

- Familiarity with CAD software and design tools, ideally AutoDesk software.
